Hello,
My name is David. I created this site for a couple different reasons. The first, to keep my family updated on what is going on within the Elkins household. Now you are probably saying…well that is what Facebook is for and to an extent that is true. Believe it or not I have family and friends that are NOT on Facebook (they are the smart ones). Another reason is that I love doing this kind of stuff and I need the practice.
I have a beautiful family. My wife is the kind of girl that likes to shop…but would rather be at a baseball game or football game. She likes to dress up…but would rather hang out in jeans and sweatshirt. She likes having a great job…but she would rather hang out with us (well sometimes…but we will get to that). You’re the best wife ever Ang!
I have two gorgeous kids. Hannah is the oldest (6.5 years old) and I am not joking when I say I am not letting her leave this house until she is 32. She is so sweet, gentle, and the biggest social butterfly I have ever seen. All of those things add up to one nervouse father and it scares me to death.
Angie and I always said that if we could have it “our” way…we would have a boy and a girl and that the boy would be older so he could look after his little sister. At first we thought well…we got “half” of what we wanted…the boy and the girl but the sequence was wrong. We couldn’t have been more blessed and more wrong. Even though Hannah is older…there is no doubt that her little brother will be able to look after her. That brings us to Noah David.
Noah is the little man of the house. He is 3. Those of us who have 3 year olds know that it’s NOT the “terrible two’s” it the “terrible three’s”. Not saying our son is terrible…but let’s just say Hannah was a breeze compared to Noah. He is so strong…so cute…so darn moody. Actually he is just like me (minus the cute and strong part). Hannah and Noah do pretty good together for the most part…but there are days when they are “gasoline and fire”. I love them more than anything!
Unfortunately, back to me. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio until I was about 15. I then move to southern Ohio where I went to high school at a small wonderful little Catholic school (St. Patrick’s) in Maysville Ky. I haven’t lived anywhere other than Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana my whole life but I always dreamed of what it would have been like to live in Colorado, California or Washington State.
I love music. If I am not trying to play it…I am listening to it…and if I am not listening to it…I am thinking about it. I also love photography, golf, cooking and sports. I love my church (www.wearecrosspoint.com). Crosspoint has not only given us a place to connect with people and ”rock and worship” on Sundays but has given us and our family wonderful friends (neighbors) that we connect with daily. Last but not least…I really love my family. They put up with: an imperfect person, father and husband and for that I LOVE YOU ALL more than I can ever express!
Thanks for stopping by!
David
